How to Jump Off a Cliff....

Countdown to leaving amazing job - 2.5 working days

Countdown to leaving country - 11.5 days

Currently constantly wondering why I thought it was a good idea to quit my awesome job at a world class, international advertising agency in order to....jump off a cliff. Will address this later.

For now, I found this lovely article entitled: How to Jump Off a Cliff Into the Ocean - Without Getting Hurt

I was hoping that it there would be some continuation of the metaphor that would provide me with comfort when the same rules were applied to my whole life.

In summary, the rules are something like this:

1. Find a cliff - Tick. Cliff found!
2. Check you won't die. - Definitely not going to die. Ok, well I might die, but there is no forseeable death.
3. Check you really want to do it. - I know I definitely did at some point. And I probably knew why at the time. Trust self.
4. Start small. - Failed. I probably should have just gone to Wales for the weekend. But too late now.
5. Trust the locals. - All of them? Aren't there gangsters in LA?
6. Keep your hands and feet together. - That's not going to get me very far.
7. Imagine you are an arrow. - Pewpew.
8. Enjoy yourself. - Roger.

I haven't really peed my pants.

It's possible that I could be embarking on an adventure. Well, I definitely am but how exciting it turns out to be is still undecided. Actually, it's not. It's going to be fuckingsuperawesomely exciting...but I'm currently too busy peeing my pants in fear to accept that yet.

I've never written a blog before. I never even kept a diary as a kid. But a friend suggested this might be worth documenting. Out of interest for other folk (I probably won't actually let anyone read this)...or just to help keep myself sane. I'm not sure he was entirely aware of how neurotically roller-coster-like my emotions were regarding the endeavor.....but neurotic emotions can be entertaining....right? Like Ren & Stimpy.

Edit, I just watched this video and Ren & Stimpy really isn't as funny as I thought it was when I was six.
